Berlin river cruise and Brandenburg boat hire:

Before heading to Berlin and its world-renowned 'Museum Island', make a detour aboard your self drive Pénichette® to visit stunning Potsdam and its famous Sans-Souci castle. To the south and east, canals, lakes and rivers flow into one another amidst a whole range of wonderful places to visit between the Spree and Oder, with some of the finest dining in Germany, such as at Bad Saarow.

At the heart of Oberhavel and Ruppiner Land, sail across the lakes at Neuruppin or opt for the Woblitz river which meanders through the forest before flowing into the great Lychen lake: this is certainly one of the loveliest river boating itineraries in the area. The Havel is a long, tranquil river that basks in sparsely populated countryside.

Circuit: In the Arms of the Havel

Before heading for Berlin and its famous Museum island, do make the side trip to astonishing Potsdam. It is an absolute must, close by and easy to access with your Pénichette®.

Berlin will keep us busy and will probably impress you as there are so many things to do. Whether to explore on foot one of its many lakes edged with century old forests and opulent or luxurious villas, or visit the heart of the town, which has been so profoundly transfigured.

More to the south and to the east, canals, lakes and rivers intermingle to offer visits between Spree and Oder and some of the best eating in Germany, such as at Bad Saarow. Lovers of pure nature and tranquillity will choose the Havel as far as Havelberg. The countryside is magnificent with few visitors. It is a cruising itinerary that insiders recommend to each other. Do not forget to make a halt at red-brick Brandenburg with its famous statue of the giant Roland who protects the town hall.
